COLLABORATING WITH THE DESIGN-BUILD DELIVERY METHOD
When Farm Credit set out to build a new headquarters in Russellville, Arkansas, the organization wanted a partner who could guide every step of the process — from concept to completion — with collaboration and clarity. Nabholz was selected under a design-build delivery method, providing a single point of responsibility for both design and construction.
The Nabholz team became involved early in the project, assisting with site selection and due diligence to assess available utilities, grading requirements, and environmental conditions. This proactive approach helped identify the optimal site while reducing risk during design. Nabholz also supported the design of an on-site commercial septic system and coordinated an access easement with the railroad to allow for a future tie-in to the city sewer system — an achievement that required navigating extensive regulatory red tape.
From there, the team managed all entitlement and permitting requirements with the city, state, and Arkansas Department of Transportation to ensure a seamless approval process. Because of this coordination, the project proceeded without a single delay. Rather than relying on early procurement to mitigate supply challenges, Nabholz and its design partners strategically designed around readily available materials and systems, ensuring predictable costs and consistent progress.
Nabholz’s scope extended far beyond construction. The team oversaw the architecture, interior design, FFE, artwork, audiovisual, security, and interior plantings, creating a cohesive aesthetic and functional environment. This holistic, turnkey delivery ensured quality and consistency across every element of the finished facility.
The new Farm Credit headquarters embodies the organization’s commitment to serving rural communities while showcasing how the design-build model drives collaboration, transparency, and measurable value. By uniting design and construction under one roof, Nabholz delivered a forward-thinking workplace that blends form, function, and purpose — built to support the next generation of Farm Credit’s mission.
