Dana Haase, a Nabholz superintendent, first became interested in construction while taking drafting, architecture, and woodworking classes in high school. During her senior year, she and her classmates built a house for a family in need.
“I just fell in love with construction and knew that is where I wanted to go,” said Haase.
As a superintendent, Haase manages daily work on the job site and coordinates the teams responsible for completing it.
“My main focus is safety, quality, and schedule.”
Each day, Haase walks the job site to identify potential safety hazards, stopping work immediately if she finds an unsafe condition. She also conducts regular inspections to ensure work meets quality standards. When issues arise, she works with subcontractors, architects, and engineers to develop solutions that meet project specifications. Haase also reviews project plans and schedules to help keep critical-path activities on track.
“I’m constantly communicating everyday with the subcontractors, the architect, the engineer, the owner…. they have this vision in mind, and being a part of actually building and seeing it every day, changing, and making it what the community or the owner really wanted, that’s probably the best part.”
