The Technology Behind Every Build

November 3rd, 2026 - By

Joel Bello is a senior cybersecurity specialist at Nabholz. Bello originally pursued a career in counseling but had not yet obtained his license when friends encouraged him to work in IT. Even after earning his counseling license, Bello decided to stay in IT.

“I think people might be surprised to hear how much cybersecurity is in construction,” Bello said.

Bello’ s role is crucial to support all the Nabholz. Jobs now rely on several different tools to ensure quality work is being completed. Today, not only do we need a hammer and nails, but we also need software. Bello works every day to ensure that those in the feel are using the best and most reliable systems. Projects involve venders, architects, subcontractors, owners, and construction managers like Nabholz, it is important that all parties involved have protected information.

Although Bello doesn’t work directly on construction projects, his role in IT helps support the teams who do. Departments such as IT, marketing, employee services, and accounting all play a part in supporting Nabholz’s field operations.

“I don’t swing a hammer, so I can’t speak to that aspect of construction, but I do feel like I am doing an important job to support these buildings that I see always coming up. I am really proud to be at Nabholz.”

Generations in the Making

Nabholz superintendent Grant Troillet has been with the company for almost 15 years. As a third-generation Nabholz employee, Troillet grew up surrounded by the company’s people and culture, which helped
