Welcoming the Primrose School to Tulsa

July 31st, 2017 - By

Nabholz’ Tulsa office is currently constructing Tulsa’s first Primrose School. Kelli and Andy Miller are the new franchise owners of Primrose School of South Tulsa. When Nabholz first met Kelli and Andy, we quickly realized just how special this project is for them. When Kelli shared their personal story with us, our team immediately realized the heart and soul of the Millers is tied into this construction effort.

Their journey to operating their own business began years ago when they were looking for quality childcare for their first child. As with most parents, finding a trusted person to watch after their child was nerve-wracking. “When I was expecting our first child, I was on a never-ending quest for quality child care in our community,” says Kelli. “I came home in tears because I did not find people I could trust to keep my child safe when I went to work. Working parents should not have to worry about their children while they are pursuing their professional ambitions.”

When Kelli and Andy moved to Franklin, Tennessee in 2011, they went through the process of searching for childcare for their daughter all over again. The first school they visited was a Primrose school, and they knew they found what they had been looking for. They were impressed by the thoughtful curriculum and impressive character-building focus of Primrose’s approach. They cancelled the rest of their scheduled visits, and decided Primrose was exactly what they had been looking for.

“My sister, who lives in the Tulsa area, was looking for child care and had similar trouble. When she had the opportunity to visit the Primrose school my daughter was attending, she fell in love with it and said Tulsa needed a Primrose, too,” says Kelli. An idea was born, and soon the Millers were making new plans for their future. “We love the Tulsa community, so we are happy to be moving back home to provide a Primrose school where children can grow their curiosity, creativity, confidence and compassion.” They are firm believers that every working parent and every community should have access to premier early education options.

Before pursuing her passion of owning a Primrose, Kelli worked as a senior manager for a Fortune 500 company. She holds a bachelor’s and a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. Kelli and Andy have recently moved from Tennessee to Oklahoma to open the first Primrose school in Tulsa. The whole family, including their three children Senna, Olivia, and Maxwell, will have a part in the Primrose Experience, as the Miller children will attend the school and Explorers Program. Kelli will manage the day-to-day operations, and Andy will provide help from behind the scenes as needed.

“Owning my own business has always been a dream of mine,” said Kelli. “Our family is proud to be opening a Primrose school, and we want our community to be proud of this school, too. We’re looking forward to providing a brighter future for all children, starting with the ones in Tulsa.”
Primrose School of South Tulsa is located at 10185 South 85th Ave. The facility should be open for business in the Fall of 2017. For more information, visit www.PrimroseSouthTulsa.com.
