NAVIGATING LONG LEAD TIMES UNDER TIGHT DEADLINES

Nabholz is adept at developing solutions to long lead times, which can cause project delays if not addressed in time. Early in the Lucky Star Casino project, our team was informed that a custom gear package would take 11 months to deliver. The gear package was critical for gaming and equipment inspections, and a long lead time threatened a significant delay that compromised our substantial completion date. In order to keep the project schedule on track, the Nabholz team ran a portable generator to provide the building with power while we transferred from temporary power to permanent power.

Another challenge to the project’s schedule was a delay in design for the fire suppression system’s holding tank and pump house. It was not fully designed until halfway through the project, which our team was made aware of and quickly moved to address the problem. We released the utility package early for that scope of work to allow us to finish the site concrete and streamline construction once the design was completed. Lead times also impacted this scope of the project, resulting in the pump house arriving just weeks before the project’s agreed upon completion date. Since we had prepped the site concrete and all utilities were in place, our team was able to seamlessly install the pump house and holding tank once it arrived. Our advanced planning ensured Nabholz turned the project over to the owner on time despite the delays.
