University of Missouri – Kansas City Foodiverse Remodel

The UMKC SU Foodiverse project reimagined the campus dining experience with a complete remodel of the existing Student Union dining hub. Nabholz transformed the 13,286-square-foot space into a modern, welcoming environment that supports a variety of fresh, diverse dining options for students, faculty, and the Kansas City community. The renovation included demolition and installation of new kitchen equipment, updated MEP systems, and refreshed flooring and wall finishes, creating a cohesive and functional space that enhances daily campus life.

Project highlights include:

  • Installation of new kitchen equipment
  • Mechanical, electrical, and plumbing renovations to support updated kitchen layout
  • New flooring and wall finishes throughout the food service space
  • Coordination with university staff, food service personnel, Chick-fil-A staff, and both local and remote architectural firms
  • Installation of separation wall and dust covers to maintain safe egress and normal building operations
  • Preconstruction and demo testing of existing kitchen hoods through Entegrity
