Conway, AR (October 28, 2008) – Nabholz Construction received a ranking in Engineering News-Record magazine’s first list of Top Green Contractors in the U.S. The list is based on volume of contracting-specific revenue from sustainable, ‘green’ projects registered or certified by third-party organizations. The recently released list shows that among construction companies in the Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Missouri region, only six firms were ranked, Nabholz being one of them.
The Nabholz construction portfolio includes more than 10 green projects, including the nation’s 70th Gold Rated office building certified under the LEED® (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Green Building Rating System. It has successfully completed buildings that earned recognition from the U.S. Green Building Council’s LEED® program, Green Globes®, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers SPiRiT system. Buildings are rated on design and construction methods that improve energy efficiency, reduce waste, and promote healthy environments inside and out.
In addition to green construction, Nabholz has incorporated a commitment to sustainability within its corporate values to guide internal operations and practices as well as service to clients. To build the capacity of its staff, training programs prepare construction professionals to attain LEED Accredited Professional status or certification through the Green Advantage® program. Staff members are active leaders in local chapters of the U.S. Green Building Council and other organizations that promote adoption of sustainable construction methods.
