To celebrate this major milestone, we’re spending 2024 looking forward — just as we’ve done for the past 75 years. From innovative safety standards to growing into new markets to adopting the latest technology, Nabholz has always been one step ahead to ensure our people, clients, and communities are well taken care of.
LOOKING BACK
In 1949, Bob Nabholz built a house for his to-be bride, and then he built another one, and another one, until Nabholz was founded. We’ve grown since then, transforming over the years into a multidisciplined commercial construction company while sticking to Bob’s original vision.
Within that vision has always been a culture of looking ahead to innovative ways to improve our people, services, and the world around us.
In 1972, Bob Nabholz appointed the company’s first safety director, a bold move at a time before OSHA began regulating the construction industry. In 1987, the Nabholz Charitable Foundation was established to serve our communities for years to come. In 2013, Entegrity was founded to offer clients sustainable, cost-saving solar and energy options.

Nabholz Construction is Founded
R.D. "Bob" Nabholz starts Nabholz practically by accident after accepting an unsolicited offer to buy the house he had just finished building for his bride-to-be Barbara. (Don't worry, he built her another one!)
Nabholz Incorporated is Established, with it Crane & Equipment Rental Services Begin
In another innovative management decision, Nabholz establishes new equipment rental services for both internal and external clients.
Nabholz University is Established
Nabholz establishes a four-year carpentry apprenticeship training program, the first in-house carpentry apprentice training program in Arkansas to receive certification from the U.S. Department of Labor. The program is still going strong today!
Nabholz Starts First Project for Arkansas Children's Hospital
Nabholz begins the addition at Arkansas Children's Hospital. Our relationship with ACH remains strong today.
Recognized in Engineering News-Record magazine as "Top 400" contractor, based on sales volume.

Committed to ensuring the company's ability to serve and support the communities we work in for years to come, the NCF is established.
Nabholz Expands Into Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma.
Nabholz expands to Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma Markets with the acquisition of KA Industries.
Nabholz Specialties Services Forms
Nabholz establishes our client services group, now called our specialty services group, to provide clients with a team of multi-skilled craftsmen to manage those "get-it-done-now" facility maintenance needs.
Nabholz Industrial Services established in Conway
Nabholz establishes our industrial services operation specializing in millwright and rigging.
Northwest Excavation established in Rogers
Nabholz establishes our excavation service group now our Civil services providing full site prep, utility and road construction services.
Nabholz opens an office in Springfield, MO
Nabholz opens our office in Springfield to better serve clients and team members in the region.
Nabholz expanded into the Kansas market
Nabholz expands into Northeast Arkansas
Nabholz expands into Jonesboro with the purchase of BB Vance and Sons.
Nabholz Wellness program founded
Nabholz Wellness program was implemented to improve employee well-being through regular wellness testing, results-based intervention, better access to care, and employee incentives.
Nabholz establishes office in Olive Branch, MS.
Under the Leadership of our Industrial Services Operation Nabholz opens an office in Olive Branch, MS serving the Northern Mississippi and Greater Memphis area.
Nabholz Environmental Services is formed
In yet another move to further serve all our clients facility needs, Nabholz grows services to include professional environmental assessment and abatement services.
Entegrity is established
Entegrity, a partnership between Nabholz and Viridian, specializing in Energy Savings Performance Contracts is established
Railroad services established in Oxford, CT
Nabholz opens office in Connecticut for its newly formed railroad services group
Nabholz expands into Middle Tennessee and the Nashville Metro area
Led by the industrial team's acquisition of Continental Machinery Movers, Nabholz establishes a presence in Middle Tennessee, with an office in Portland, followed by a new office in the Nashville suburb of Franklin.
Jake Nabholz Becomes CEO
On January 1, 2022, Jake Nabholz became the new Chief Executive Officer of Nabholz. Predecessor Greg Williams remained as Chairman of the Board.
Entegrity Becomes a Wholly-Owned Nabholz Company
In August 2022, Nabholz purchased the remaining stakes of Entegrity Energy Partners, becoming the sole owner. Nabholz had previously been majority owner since it the company was established in 2013.

Nabholz isn’t just a family company – we’re a company of families. We started out in Central Arkansas 75 years ago and we now call six other states home: Mississippi, Oklahoma, Connecticut, Kansas, Missouri, and Tennessee. With our expansion, we’ve brought new families into our legacy, and we look forward to future generations joining us.
Today, we’re proud to say that our team has grown to include more than 1,400 employees in 14 cities across seven states. We offer more than just construction services, with capabilities ranging from machine rigging to environmental hazard removal, to custom fabrication and millwork. And we’re still growing.
It’s through our families that we serve our communities. We know the families, the people, and the needs of our community – all factors that contribute to our ability to deliver quality services to our clients’ projects across our footprint.
LOOKING FORWARD
Since the beginning, Nabholz has been redefining what it means to be a construction company. We’re constantly innovating and evolving to meet our clients’ needs. Today, we implement the latest AI technology for scheduling and clash detection, utilize safety equipment like exoskeletons and smartwatches, and more. But we’re not just adopting new technologies – we’re developing them right here at Nabholz.
To sustain that growth and innovation, we’re continuing to promote and support our industry as a whole — elevating our craft and shining a light on the rewarding career opportunities in the trades. Nabholz University provides the tools Nabholz employees and young students need to build successful, fulfilling careers. It’s through our commitment to grow our industry that we can look forward to future advancements for our people, our clients, and our communities.
