Nabholz Construction Services and CEO Bill Hannah Receive Sustainability Award

March 6th, 2012 - By

Waste Management honored Nabholz Construction Services with its inaugural Sustainability Circle of Excellence Award. The award recognizes outstanding performance in sustainable construction practices. Nabholz Construction Services was one of only ten companies nationwide to receive the honor.

The determination to receive the award was based on Waste Management’s online Diversion and Recycling Tracking Tool (DART). DART, launched in May 2011, tracks information related to construction projects, including the amount of material diverted from a landfill to a recycling facility, as well as the types of materials put to reuse.

Bill Hannah, CEO of Nabholz Construction Services received an engraved commemorative display piece in recognition of his direct leadership toward sustainable construction. “I’m truly honored to receive this award from Waste Management and as a company, we are more dedicated than ever to continue building sustainable construction projects.” said Hannah.

Mary Laurie, Director for Sustainable Initiatives for Nabholz Construction Services added “Managing our construction wastes is a priority and one of our corporate sustainability goals. In this past year alone, we’ve had projects that have recycled and diverted more than 93 percent of wastes produced on the job. That is a huge volume of material that is diverted from landfills and is finding its way to new products or new uses.”

Founded in 1949, Nabholz Construction Services is one of the nation’s leading general contractors and construction managers. The company is employee-owned, licensed in forty three states and has offices in Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri and Kansas.
