Blessed Sacrament ConstructionJONESBORO, AR – Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church will host a groundbreaking ceremony at its new church property, 1105 E. Highland, Dr., at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 19. The ceremony is open to the public.

The church selected Nabholz as the general contractor to oversee construction of a new, 15,000-square-foot church. The new church will be built on 20 acres owned by the parish on East Highland Drive. Adam Seiter, parishioner at Blessed Sacrament and Senior Project Manager at Nabholz, will direct the project.

This day is especially fitting to celebrate the groundbreaking, according to Father Alphonse Gollapalli, pastor of Blessed Sacrament. “March 19 is a fitting date for our groundbreaking ceremony because the Catholic Church also recognizes this day as the feast day of St. Joseph who was a carpenter y trade.”

Father Gollapalli expects the church to hold about 800 people. The design will incorporate elements from the former church, including the Stations of the Cross and stained windows.
