Nabholz Corp. of Conway is bringing a specialty service group to its Jonesboro construction office.

The company employs 40 people in Jonesboro, including the new group’s service manager, Robb Crotts, and the new group’s head craftsman, Director of Marking Angi McDaniel told Arkansas Business.

She said the group is a “jack of all trades” that handles renovations, tenant finish outs, concrete pours, maintenance and more.

“The best way to describe it is they do the jobs that are maybe a little bit too small for construction groups to do,” McDaniel said.

She said hiring for the group would ramp up based on demand. Nabholz is expanding the Jonesboro office, which opened in 2004, because current clients need or will need the group’s services.

“We’ve had a construction office in Jonesboro for several years. Really, we saw a need there for smaller-type jobs. And, really, what we have always done is we have done what we needed to serve the clients that we had,” McDaniel said. “So our existing construction clients might, a year from now or two years from now, need updating on some things or renovations or small repairs, so it’s just a perfect fit to have a service division up there.

“We pretty much have a service division in every office that we have a construction office in. So they almost kind of always follow behind the new construction to take care of those clients on a long-term basis.”

Nabholz is finishing a five-story surgical and intensive care tower at St. Bernards Healthcare, part of a $130 million master plan.

Crotts, the new group’s manager, attended Arkansas State University and worked at BB Vance and Sons Construction, a Jonesboro business Nabholz acquired in 2004.

He has worked as a project manager specializing in concrete, an estimator for Nabholz’ commercial construction group and, most recently, as a business development officer for Nabholz’ industrial and service groups.
