Arkansas Department of Environmental Quality Office Building

Nabholz built this 115,000-square-foot, six-story environmentally friendly office building, which received a LEED® Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council for leadership in energy and environmental design and three-globe ratings from the Green Building Initiatives assessment system. This project featured a permeable pavement parking lot, a laboratory containing eight fume hoods, an air lab, walk-in cooler and weigh room, cubicle office space and conference rooms with audio/visual technology on every floor, a commission room with audio/visual technology and kitchen area, and water-saving features that reduce water consumption by 30 percent. Ten percent of the structure was built with recycled materials. Twenty percent of the materials were obtained within the region.
