Drury University contracted Nabholz to construct the Enterprise Center, the university’s first major academic building in over 20 years. The building is 67,438 square feet and houses the Breech School of Business, the Department of Political Science and International Affairs, related academic programs, and high-tech collaborative spaces. The Enterprise Center is dedicated to increasing communication and cooperation between students, faculty, and the local community. It includes design, data analytics, and cybersecurity labs; a trading floor; a multipurpose building with a 600-seat ballroom; a trustees’ boardroom; and more.
To help the project come to life with minimal conflicts, we engaged our mechanical, electrical, and plumbing subcontractors early in the design process for design-assist. Our team utilized these subcontractors’ expertise alongside BIM 3D modeling software to coordinate with the subcontractors months prior to them being onsite. This way, we were able to plan and address any clashes between the trades prior to installation, and the whole team was kept updated and informed so that work could progress smoothly once construction started.
