King Elementary School

The new 84,000 sq. ft. elementary school located in Van Buren, Arkansas features classrooms, kitchen/cafeteria area, media center, administrative offices, gymnasium, walk-out basement area to hold classrooms, mechanical area and a FEMA great room. The new building utilizes geo-thermal heating and cooling, daylight harvesting, and a rain water collection system for flushing toilets and landscape irrigation. The project was named LEED Project of the Year by the Arkansas Chapter of the United States Green Building Council.
