MAINTAINING PUBLIC COMMUNICATION AND SAFETY ON UNIVERSITY CONSTRUCTION SITE

UALR’s Trojan Way is a walkway that cuts through the heart of the busy campus. To inform the public of updates and changes while working on the walkway, Nabholz communicated closely with UALR and provided vital information to be sent out through the school’s official channels, including the school website and email. The project had nine phases, and as each phase started, Nabholz gave information about the phase’s scope and an updated map for navigation.

With thousands of students, staff, and visitors crossing campus daily while the project was ongoing, ensuring safety was critical. To protect the campus community, Nabholz installed over two miles of chain-link fencing with windscreens and cross braces to protect pedestrians and prevent unauthorized access to the construction site. Each phase and section of fencing also had associated construction maps (accessed via QR codes on site fencing), with custom directional signage to help students, staff, and visitors navigate to their destination safely.
