Building the Ozarks

Grow. Serve. Build

At Nabholz, we operate with a simple purpose in mind: to grow our people, serve our clients, and build our communities. For more than 40 years, the Ozarks have been our home, and we’re proud to have contributed to the region’s continued growth and development.

Through our comprehensive contractor services, we’ve helped bring to life some of the area’s most iconic destinations — from Crystal Bridges and Thunder Ridge Nature Arena to the Wonders of Wildlife National Museum.

Explore the stories behind these remarkable projects below, and join us as we work to support the success of the Ozarks for generations to come.

Wonders of Wildlife National Museum

Nabholz is proud to have completed a 100,000-square-foot remodel and 25,000-square-foot addition for the world-class Wonders of Wildlife National Museum and Aquarium. This project utilizes innovative technology and artistry to replicate diverse climates and regions across the world as visitors travel through wildlife exhibits and 1.5 million gallons of aquariums.

Fun Mountain

Fun Mountain at Big Cedar Lodge is an action-packed activity center for the public and guests at the Lodge who come to enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks in Ridgedale, Missouri. Nabholz constructed the 50,000-square-foot center to include fun activities for the whole family, such as laser tag, climbing walls, bumper cars, a restaurant, and more.

Thunder Ridge

Thunder Ridge Nature Arena is an outdoor amphitheater dedicated to raising awareness and funding for conservation. Spanning five acres in the heart of the Missouri Ozarks, the arena offers stunning views of the surrounding forests and Table Rock Lake. The project’s land, buildings, and infrastructure were all donated and permanently preserved as part of a not-for-profit foundation committed to conservation.

Dogwood Canyon General Store & Mill

Located in Dogwood Canyon Nature Park, this destination provides visitors with a place to dine, learn about wildlife, and more. The antique general store and functional timber-framed mill were built with the surrounding wildlife in mind, prioritizing conservation efforts in line with the park’s mission for the Ozarks.

Ozark Mill at Finley Farms

The Ozark Mill at Finley Farms is a historic landmark initially built in the 1800s that stands as the last operating watermill in Missouri. Nabholz led the mill’s 30,000-square-foot restoration, providing construction and industrial contractor services to transform the site into a welcoming community space with unique dining, social, and educational experiences

DiVentures Scuba & Swim Center

DiVentures is a state-of-the-art natatorium in Springfield, Missouri that offers year-round swim lessons and scuba training. Nabholz constructed the 11,800-square-foot facility equipped with a 50-foot heated pool, classrooms, a diving well, family locker rooms, and more.

Northside Christian Church

Located in Springfield, Missouri, Northside Christian Church hired Nabholz to expand and renovate their worship spaces to better accommodate their growing community. The project expanded the church’s worship center, remodeled the early childhood department, and added a new youth center attached to the main building.

Hillcrest High School

The Springfield community approved a bond issue for facility improvements districtwide. Hillcrest High School’s renovation and addition were part of this bond, allowing the district to address security concerns, expand classroom capabilities, and add a secure connection to the school’s gymnasium.

Williams Elementary School

As part of a bond issue for districtwide facility improvements, Springfield School District’s Williams Elementary was demolished and rebuilt to better accommodate student and faculty needs. The new school was constructed by Nabholz to include a pre-cast storm shelter, outdoor basketball court, tie-in with existing library, and more.
