Franklin Special District chose Nabholz to serve as general contractor to construct a 38,390-square-foot Class A office building to function as their new Central Office. Construction of the facility included:
- Large common entry space with a decorative three-story curtain wall atrium and elevated walkways with full glass railing system and stainless steel handrails
- 1,200 SF open-air courtyard with poured concrete patio, brick and cast stone planting bed, benches, and picnic tables
- 2,800 SF multi-purpose assembly room with integrated audiovisual technology for school board meetings and professional learning. Assembly room also features custom wood-veneer acoustic wall panels, coffered ceilings with modern chandeliers, and recessed linear slot diffusers
- Wellness center, including state-of-the-art fitness equipment, with men’s and women’s locker rooms
- Video broadcast & podcasting studio
- Eight group restrooms featuring quartz vanity tops, accent down lighting, decorative wall coverings, ceramic tile floors, and wet walls
- Four executive offices featuring coffered ceilings, modern chandeliers, built-in casework with quartz countertops, accent down lighting, and individual restrooms with ceramic tile floors and wet walls
- Three executive offices with custom acoustic wall paneling and pendant lighting with sound baffling
- Three flexible meeting and conference spaces featuring built-in casework with quartz countertops, accent lighting, and wall graphics
- Large breakroom
- 44 private offices featuring full height storefront walls and aluminum doors
- Receiving dock adjacent large storage areas for district textbooks, records, and technology equipment
The 5-acre site was designed to maximize the available building and parking areas while simultaneously treating 100% of the stormwater runoff leaving the property. This included a series of close-proximity retaining walls, bio-retention ponds, and over 55,000 square feet of pervious concrete and unit pavers. In addition, the site included an extensive landscaping and irrigation coverage with a carefully selected range of native trees, ground covering, and sod.
