Nabholz Donates $80,000 to UALR Scholarship Fund

Nabholz continues to support education at the University Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) with recent contributions totaling $80,000. The Nabholz Charitable Foundation recently donated $50,000 to establish the Nabholz Endowed Scholarship for Art and Design. The foundation also contributed $30,000 to Nabholz’ existing endowed scholarship for construction management students at the university.
“Nabholz is very proud to support UALR, and in particular help provide financial aid to deserving students,” said Greg Williams, chief executive officer. “It is important to Little Rock and central Arkansas that UALR thrive. The business community needs UALR graduates.”
UALR Vice Chancellor Chris O’Neal echoes Williams’ comments on the economic impact of increased scholarship opportunities. “Nabholz has long been a partner with UALR. We continue to be Arkansas’ leading provider in construction management and art + design education. Together we are equipping the future of our state.”
Nabholz in particular relies on UALR construction management program graduates. We currently employ its graduates in double digit numbers, all in vital project management positions.
Kera Lathan, a construction management student and Nabholz intern, commented on Nabholz’ recent gift, saying “it’s great to be part of a team that values learning and education, both in construction and the arts, the way Nabholz does. UALR and Nabholz have been instrumental in my education, and I’m glad that through these scholarships other students will get to experience that gift.”
In October, the UALR Office of Alumni and Development kicked off a $3 million campaign to fund endowed scholarships for art students. The campaign stems from a commitment the university made to Windgate Charitable Foundation that it would raise scholarship funds in response to Windgate’s gift of $20.3 million for the construction of a new visual arts building. The Nabholz gift helps bring the campaign to the half million-dollar mark.
The planned facility, now named the Windgate Center of Art + Design, is scheduled to open for the 2018 spring semester. Once completed, the nearly 65,000-square-foot facility will bring all the Department of Art and Design programs into one location.
