City of Bentonville Emergency Communications Center

The Bentonville Police Department’s new emergency communications center is a 22,500-square-foot facility that includes two buildings. The first building, a two-story Criminal Investigation Unit (CIU), houses investigators’ offices, conference room, computer lab, evidence storage, and exercise and locker rooms. In addition, the building includes a 5,500-square-foot multipurpose room that the police department uses for training and vehicle investigations.

The second building is a 6,800-square-foot dispatch building. This structure was designed to fulfill the surrounding communities’ emergency dispatching needs through 2036. It is a hardened building and has been built to maintain function even while taking a direct hit from an F5 tornado. The facility includes offices, a kitchen, sleep rooms, and a conference room designed to handle all the regional response teams’ emergency needs.
