The new Governor Michael L. Parson Arena is the largest facility on the Missouri State Fairgrounds to date at 190,000 square feet. With this project, the State of Missouri aimed to build a two-floor arena equipped to host a wide range of events, including rodeos, trade shows, sporting events, and livestock shows.
Nabholz collaborated with the architect, the State of Missouri, the State Fair Foundation, sponsors, vendors, and subcontractors to construct the new Governor Michael L. Parson Arena using the Design-Build delivery method. The Design-Build process was essential to the arena’s success, allowing for a highly collaborative project that will provide the community with an event facility for generations to come.
By releasing early bid packages, coordinating early material procurement, performing constructability reviews, and more, Nabholz proactively acquired the necessary trades and materials to the benefit of the project’s budget and timeline. Such flexibility allowed the owner to include additional items in the scope throughout construction, ensuring the arena would meet the needs of the community.

- 6,000 permanent seats; 10,000-seat capability

- Front plaza with bronze sculpture monument
- Ticket booth
