The University of Missouri entrusted Nabholz with upgrading Faurot Field at Memorial Stadium to high-performance turf before the Spring term began. With just 10 weeks before the deadline, the project was fast paced with an aggressive schedule that required partnership and trust at all steps. The Nabholz team worked closely with the design team and owner to ensure the project was completed successfully. To meet the accelerated schedule, the project utilized the Master Construction Agreement delivery method, which allowed for an accelerated bid process, early material procurement, and proper allowances for unforeseen conditions.
Our construction team conducted the following work:
- Removed and disposed of existing field turf, goal post foundations, and subsurface sand
- Placed down aggregate in-fill material
- Routed new electrical and telecommunication conduit to relocated communication boxes and endzone pylon cameras
- Poured new concrete goal post foundations
- Installed storm drainage with 12-inch-wide flat drain piping, 18-inch HDPE collector pipe, and 30-inch nylopast drain basins
- For the shock pad and new field turf, 5 inches of drainage base aggregate and 1 inch of drainage finish aggregate was placed at a 0.5% slope
