The City of Blytheville aimed to double its plant capacity, decommission two existing plants and use those plants as holding ponds, and renovate another plant with updated processing equipment. Nabholz worked with the city’s engineers, Pollution Management Inc., to create project costs, value engineering solutions, and set a scope of work close to the city’s budgets. The project scope included:
- Pre-loading the construction site for proper foundation
- Installing a new sequential batch reactor with equipment provided by the city
- Running six miles of force main from existing West plant to the new sequential batch reactor
- Running 1,400 yards of force main from the existing South plant to the new sequential batch reactor
- Decommissioning the South and West plants
- Dredging the North plant and preparing for equipment swap out
