The Cave Springs sanitary sewer improvement project aimed to connect the city’s wastewater system to the Northwest Arkansas Conservation Authority (NACA) regional treatment facility. Doing so vastly increased the city’s capacity for handling residential and commercial sewage flows.
The extensive pipeline length required coordination with more than 30 private homeowners, which demanded careful planning, communication, and property restoration from Nabholz’s civil team. Construction also involved trenchless installation beneath a major highway serving airport traffic, requiring specialized engineering and strict safety controls to avoid disruptions. In addition, our team executed multiple long directional bores around and beneath a national waterway, demonstrating advanced technical capability and environmental stewardship while overcoming significant logistical challenges.
The project scope included:
- Two miles of 24” gravity sewer
- One mile of 12” HDPE force main
- 1,500 LF of 24” directional bore
- 650 LF of 36” jack and bore
- 12’x24’ wet well with three Flygt 3202 series pumps
- BioAir odor control unit
- Electrical building housing SCADA system
- Kohler KG200 6,000 lbs. generator
